Albert Frances Josey, 95 of Spry Bay passed away on Saturday, December 28th at the Halifax Infirmary Hospital. Born in Halifax in 1929, he was the son of Albert and Janie (Siteman) Josey. Besides his wife, Ruth (Cook), he was predeceased by brothers Ernest, Emmerson, Bruce, Lloyd, Robie and sisters Helen, Anna, Goldie and Margaret. He is survived by daughters Shawna (Arthur) Westville and Maria (John) Halifax and son Colin (Michelle) Dallas, TX. His five grandchildren and six great grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. Also survived by one remaining brother, Victor (Halifax).

Moving to Spry Bay at a young age our father didn't stray too far from his beloved community on the eastern shore.

Following his retirement from Ocean Contractors, Dad focused on woodworking projects, volunteering his time at community events, delivering Meals on Wheels, singing in a men's choir, and spending time in his aluminum boat motoring around "the bay" to catch a mackerel or whatever was jumping that day.

Other than his family, our father was most proud of being a member of Eureka Lodge in Sheet Harbour since 1959. Master of Eureka Lodge (1986), District Grand Director of Ceremonies Halifax#2 (2005)

The family would like to send sincere thanks to the staff at Northwood Manor, Halifax Campus, and the many friendships he formed during his two year residence there. We are forever grateful for the care and concern provided by the staff at 9 Manor. And to those many kind people who checked in with our father regularly with a phone call, a visit or a lunch date, we pass along to you our thanks.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A family burial will take place at a later date.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of D.S Crowell & Son Funeral Home.
