I enjoyed talking to Clarence at the DMHS reunion. We had a laugh when I described a memory of being at his grandfather's place (his future home) with my parents. We were well below teen years. Old Mr Marshall was going to let us kids ride 1 of his horses. (I still have a Super 8 movie of that day). Clarence, who was 3 days my junior, was being the "big man" showing us city kids around the barn ahead of the adults. When he paused by the stall of a pony, known to be particularly mean, it reached out and nipped his belly and Clarence let out a yelp and went racing to his grandfather for comfort.
He was a very talented woodworker who built all the furniture for The Tank Beverage Room. My condolences to Jay and family.
