Born on October 24, 1941, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Marilyn lived a life dedicated to uplifting others and cherishing the beauty of her maritime surroundings. Growing up along the shores of Bedford Basin, Marilyn's love for the sea was ingrained from an early age. She was a skilled sailor and found solace and joy being on the water. Marilyn's educational journey led her to attain certification as a Book Keeper from Halifax County Vocational High School in 1959, marking the beginning of her illustrious career. In her professional life, Marilyn's expertise extended across various fields, from her tenure in large banks to her pivotal role as Office Manager at Tidewater Construction. Her remarkable ability to connect with people, coupled with her passion for genealogy, made her a beloved figure at the Adult Clinic in Sheet Harbour, where she dedicated her time to helping individuals trace their roots and reunite with lost family members. Marilyn's generosity knew no bounds. She was renowned for extending a hand-up to those in need, embodying the essence of compassion and empathy. Her impact extended beyond her professional endeavors, as she touched countless lives with her unwavering support and "tough love" approach to overcoming challenges. Family was paramount to Marilyn.
