I have fondest memories of visiting Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Don when I was a teenager at their home in Lower Sackville. Enjoying fresh lobster and clams and traveling to Bedford Basin to experience my first swim in the ocean.
Forever in our hearts.

Mourning the loss of our dear Marilyn, a beacon of love and generosity who radiated intelligence and boundless optimism. Her gentle nature coupled with her fiery passion enriched our lives beyond measure. Recollections of shared laughter during phone calls, joy in road trips, and beloved Christmas in July celebrations will remain etched in my heart perpetually. Farewell sister, your spirit continues to illuminate our path.

Marilyn graced us all with her warmth, intellect, and generous heart. Her warm friendship was a beacon during our years at Tidewater Construction and remained so in the ensuing years, bridged by modern means of communication. Oh, how we will miss those enlightening conversations that reflected her kindness and loving nature. May this great friend rest peacefully knowing she leaves behind grateful hearts full of love for Jean Reid's cherished confidante.

Where to begin? Marilyn was a favourite leader of my Wednesday group at Eastern Shore Memorial Day Clinic. She welcomed this flat lander from Manitoba with open arms and heart. She reached out frequently to her friends of the group to ensure they knew were important to each other. Her wealth of wisdom helped us all navigate one problem or another over the years. If anyone of them needed help or advise Marilyn would seek out the information on her computer or include my medical support. She never shied away from telling people what she believed to be true. Trivia games as a group were educational for us all and a lot of laughs. I was the recipient of her sending a letter in support of Day Clinic. The group considered each other family. She relished looking up her friends ancestry and printing out the information for them to share. Marilyn spoke often with pride of her family and grand children. We had a few chuckles when a few of my deliveries or mail arrived at her home in Pope's Harbour. She now no longer had the monopoly of the Schwartz name on Easter Shore even though mine is spelled Swartz. She said she was going to keep my shingles if mine came first when we shingled our homes the same year. With me having a child in the Navy we were able to brag to each other about the pride of our serving family members. You will always be in my heart Marilyn. Your downtown Pope's Harbour sign will continue to bring a smile to my face. RIP my friend. Love you always.

Marilyn was such a lovely person, warm and kind. I was so pleased to see her again after many years, while on a visit to my daughter Leah in Halifax, Marilyn's grand- daughter. We shared some stories of Leah's childhood and recent family activities; Marilyn was happy to have Leah's visits and calls now that she was in Nova Scotia. Marilyn will be very fondly remembered and missed by her family and friends.
