Holman, Stanley Reid 77, of Sheet Harbour passed away suddenly on April 2, 2023. Born on July 24, 1945 in Watt Section he was a son of the late Baker & Florence (Munroe) Holman. Stanley was a mechanic and heavy equipment operator. His work career included such places as a long trucker for Brian Smith and Ron Lowe, Zephen Bros, constructing the Marine Gateway, and Department. of Highways in Spry Bay as a mechanic. Stanley enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his family. He was happiest when playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Donna (Appleby) Holman, son Allen daughter Amanda Russell (Richard Russell) all of sheet Harbour. He is also survived by grandchildren Kelsey (Jonah Rutledge) of Clam Bay, Nicolas Holman (Kassie Fahie) of New Glasgow, Autumn Russell and Raina Russell of Sheet Harbour. His great-grandchildren Peyton and Norah Rutledge, Sierra, Carson, Amelia Holman. He was Papa to many more. Survived by siblings Minnie, Janet, Thelma, Frank, Michael, Johnny, and Jimmie. Predeceased by siblings Scott, Alex, Elmer, Charles, Raymond, Annie, Harold, Gilles, Dennis, Garnett, Richard, Margaret, and Mary. Everyone will miss his amazing sense of humour and his stories. In Lieu of Flowers Donations may be made to the IWK. A memorial service will be held Wednesday April 12 at 1p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 23844 Highway 7, due to limited space the service will be live streamed downstairs at the Sheet Harbour Legion as well. My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
