I have so many wonderful memories of Uncle Stanley. Growing up, he would often stop by our place to visit with us and check in on his big brother Dennis. They would talk and joke for hours, it was like a dose good medicine for us all to listen to them tease each other and we'd laugh till our belly's ached. As an adult living away, our visits were sparse but when we did it was like getting a big dose of that same feel good medicine. So when I think about Uncle Stanley I will always remember his laughter, funny stories and love. Thinking of you all. Big hugs.

Many years ago Stanley called Mike and said he had sick pigs . He got needles and antibiotics from a vet in Truro but needed help injecting them . Mike had invited people in, he just met, who were on a sail boat. Their boat was moored where he had his boat docked , across from my brother Gary and Donna’s .
He offered a hot meal , showers and to do laundry and they accepted . He left them eating dinner and went down to help Stanley …… and his pigs .
Stanley loaned him his big rubber boots and handed him the needle . Mike climbed into the pigpen and proceeded to chase pigs and inject them until he had them all done !
Stanley told me this story many times, always full of laughter .
Months later Mike received a very large parcel in the mail . It was a ‘Pig Platter’ from his guests from the US who had sailed into Sheet Harbour . I guess they enjoyed telling the story of the country doctor who willing climbed into a pigpen to help out his neighbour and friend , Stanley .

Stan will always be remembered by me because he was a close friend of my husband Gary.
Every time we met at our conventions he always spoke kind encouraging words to me. We enjoyed visiting with him and Donna in the Sheet Harbour congregation. I send my love to her and the Holman family.❤️
