Dear Susan,
So sorry to hear of your loss. I will miss seeing Donald’s smiling face in church and the kind words and concern you both showed me. I won’t make it to the funeral but you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Susan,
I am sending you my sincere sympathy on the death of your dear husband. For several years I have admired the devoted and loving care you have given him as his health declined. May you find solace in the happy memories of your life together, and especially of those at your cottage on the Eastern Shore.
With love,
Shirley
