Obituary of Avis Isabel Publicover

Age 82, Dartmouth (Lochaber Mines). It is with heavy hearts that we have to say goodbye to a loving wife, mother, sister, nan, aunt and friend on May 31, 2019 in Dartmouth General Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Lochaber Mines on March 5, 1937, she was a daughter of the late John Alexander and Muriel (Cameron) MacDonald. She enjoyed dancing, going to the cottage, and cranberry picking in the fall. She enjoyed her cross Canada/United States trip to Alaska as well as their cross-province trip to Newfoundland. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Harold; by her children, Harold (Priscilla), Dartmouth; and Arlene McFadden, Truro; grandchildren, Devon and Victoria; brothers, Floyd (Marion), Lochaber Mines; Adrian, Dartmouth; Fred (Joanne), Kitchener, Ont. Predeceased by her son, Derrick; sisters, Merna Russell, Faye Naugler, Florence DeWolfe, and Cora (infancy); brothers, Donald, Ronald, and Alvin. Special thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff in the ICU at Dartmouth General Hospital. As per her wishes there will only be a graveside service for family and friends with no reception to follow. Graveside service will be held June 4th at 2 p.m. in St. James United Church in Lochaber Mines, with Verna Dunlop officiating. Family flowers only, donations may be made to The Arthritis Society.
