Obituary of Rita Yvonne Marie

Age 88, of Shubenacadie, formerly of Montreal, Dartmouth, Harrigan Cove and East Quoddy, passed away peacefully at home on January 19, 2019. Rita was born on April 5, 1930 in Montreal to the late Cecile and Rheal "Joe" Fournier. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. For many years she owned and operated Fraser's Store out of her home in East Quoddy. Next to her family, her love of animals had her caring for numerous pets, many that became her babies and companions when her children went out on their own. Rita is survived by, and will be dearly missed by her loving son, Rheal (Betty), Shubenacadie; daughter, Valerie (Derrick) Kent, Dartmouth; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Roland Fournier, Charlottetown, P.E.I.; sister, Cecile Wilson, Dartmouth; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy Fraser; sons, Carl and Robert "Bobby"; daughter, Joanie in infancy. Cremation has taken place. At Rita's request there will be no visitation and a family committal will be held at a later date.
