Obituary of Sheelagh Lynn McDonald
McDonald Sheelagh Lynn, 56, of Dartmouth passed away peacefully at home on January 17th, 2019. Born in Halifax on September 6, 1962 to parents Daniel & Marilyn (Rhyno) McDonald. She graduated from Duncan MacMillan High School in Sheet Harbour, and went on to devote her career as an administrative assistant for many years at the VG Hospital in Halifax and more recently at Solutions Learning Center in Dartmouth where she took immense Pride in her work and got much joy from helping anyone she could.
Sheelagh was an accomplished and avid gardener, she loved nothing more than to nurture her plants and many gardens over the years. Her love of nature saw her outside and often she could be found hiking, swimming, picnicking and exploring. She greatly enjoyed games and was an avid reader, on a sunny day you could find her outside surrounded by her gardens and immersed in a book. Her family can take some solace in knowing she is finally reunited with her beloved dog Dora and somewhere they are walking together.
Sheelagh is remembered with Love by her two children from her previous marriages, Jacqueline Small (Gillis) and Jessica Gillis. She will be dearly missed by her beloved grandchild Jasia Rupchan, who was her “Sweet Pea”. She is survived by her devoted parents Daniel and Marilyn McDonald, brother Shawn (Flo) McDonald and will be dearly missed by her loving partner Dan Thompson.
