Power, Sheila Lillian- 81, Lake Echo, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mother and Nan who passed away peacefully at the Dartmouth General Hospital with her loving daughters by her side on Thursday December 27, 2018. Born in East Ship Harbour she was the eldest daughter of the late Lionel and Bertha DeWolfe (DeWolfe). As well as being a devoted wife and mother to three girls, Mom had various other jobs throughout her life. She worked as a clerk at the Halifax Shipyards, a sales clerk at Eatons since the opening of its MicMac Mall location until 1980 and finally at CFB Shearwater Non-Public Funds from 1980 to her retirement in 1983. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends and loved talking daily to her sisters, sisters in-law and friends by phone. She is survived by her daughters Karen and Chaudhari, who lived with her; only grandson Kyle DeWolfe, Dartmouth. Honorary son Bruce Penny, Head of Chezzetcook, fur grandchild Ethie, sisters Helena Branton, East Ship Harbour, Pauline (Allan) DeLong, Dartmouth, Rosemary (Bill) Lane, East Ship Harbour, Dawn MacDonald, Musquodoboit Harbour, brother Charlie (Shahnaz) DeWolfe, Lower Ship Harbour, brother in-law Ronald “Deed” (Kathleen) Power, East Ship Harbour, best friend and sister in-law Lillian Power, Berwick, 20 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Clifford Herbert (Herb), eldest daughter Donna Fahie and son in law Colin Fahie, brother David DeWolfe, brothers in-law Ray MacDonald, Heber Branton, Lloyd Power, Clarence “Bud” Power and sister in law Vera Power, brother in law Rod Power, nephews Mark DeWolfe, Tommy DeWolfe, niece Brenda Whalen, and grand critters Aja, Tai, Chippie 1 and 2, Susie, Molly, Remi, Juno and numerous great grand critters. Special thanks to Laurie Provo and Susan Bent of CBI Home Health for the love and care they provided for Mom, the VON, doctors and nursing staff of the Dartmouth General Hospital, and EHS Emergency Health Services for their assistance over the past few years which allowed Mom to stay in her home. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Service will be held Friday January 4, 2019 in St. Peters Anglican Church, Murphy Cove Rev. Lorraine Otto officiating. If you wish, donations in Moms memory may be made to St. Johns Anglican Church, Westphal; St. Peters Anglican Church, Murphy Cove, Canadian Diabetes Association; Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
