Hartling, John Samuel- 73, Murphy Cove, passed away November 8, 2024 in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Infirmary Site, Halifax. Born December 13, 1950 in Sheet Harbour he was the son of the late Everett & Susie (Pottle) Hartling of Harrigan Cove. Surviving is his wife of 50 years the former Linda Beaver, daughters; Cindy (Sean), Kimberly (Mac); known affectionately as Booda or Grampy to Cayden and Ariana; sister Janet (Chris); brothers in law Cecil, Norman (Lorna), Barry (Cher), Terry; sisters-in-law Jeannie (Michael), Elizabeth many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by father and mother-in-law Russell & Ruth, brothers in law Donald & Kenneth, sisters in law Nancy (Blair) and Carla. Visitation will be held Wednesday November 13 from 6-8 pm in DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home, 22558 Highway 7, Sheet Harbour. Funeral Service will be held Thursday November 14 at 2pm in St. Peters Anglican Church, Murphy Cove, Rev. Debra Burleson officiating. Cremation has taken place and a burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. who we are:
My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
