Obituary of Jackson Richard McMullen

McMullen, Jack Richard- 77, Murphy Cove, with great sadness we announce his accidental passing at home. Born in Vernon B.C. he was the eldest son of the late Raymond & Grace (Harrop) McMullen. Jack joined the Canadian Armed Forces at an early age. He loved serving in the Navy and retired after 31 years service. Jack also enjoyed camping, boating, many other outdoor activities and spending time with family and friends. After retirement he joined the volunteer fire department in Tangier, becoming a first responder and fire chief at Station 30. He also worked a number of years as a truck driver picking up lobster all over Nova Scotia for Ferguson Lobster Pound in Tangier. Jack enjoyed meeting his old navy brothers and having a chat. He was mister fix it for a lot of family & friends and enjoyed joking with people. Survived by his wife Sharon of 57 years, son Shane (Natalie Connors), grandchildren Blake & Nevah, sisters; Jennifer (Richard) Carey, Cherryville, Janice (Bruce) Markie, Lumby, Bill (Gale), Lumby, Bob, Vernon BC and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother in infancy. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday October 5, 2024 at Four Harbours Legion Branch 120, 15463 Highway 7 East Ship Harbour from 2-4pm.
