Burgoyne, Patricia Ann (Smiley)-84 Port Dufferin, passed away suddenly at home July 8, 2024. Born in Port Dufferin January 8, 1940 she was a daughter of the late William(Bill) and Sadie(Whitman)Smiley. Patsy grew up in Port Dufferin, in her early days mom worked at the Balcom & Chittick Drug Store Sheet Harbour. Later with her excellent baking skills she was employed in the bakery at the Sheet Harbour IGA. Mom(Country Nanny) loved spending her summers with her only grandchild Sam on their many picnics to the Back Cove on Smiley’s Point and walks along the beach. Mom loved a good chat and will be greatly missed for her wit and the many laughs and smiles she gave to all who knew her. Mom is survived by her son Christopher(Gwenda) daughter Jennifer(DJ) MacLean and grandchild Sam MacLean, sisters in law Irene(Harold) Catherine(Michael) many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Sterling, sisters Doris Hallet, Carol Smiley-Covert and a sister in infancy, brothers Harold and Michael Smiley. Brothers in law Laurie Hallet and Bob Covert. Mom will always be remembered by all who knew her for her laughter, hugs, baked goodies, kind heart and the amazing woman that she was. Visitation will be held 7-9 Friday July 12th with prayers at 7:30 in D.S.Crowell & Son Funeral Home, 22558 Highway 7, Sheet Harbour. Funeral service will be held Saturday July 13 at 2 pm in St James Anglican Church, Port Dufferin Rev Dr Mike Foley officiating. Internment in the St James Cemetery Port Dufferin. Family flowers only donations may be made to St James Cemetery c/o Lawrence MacQueen.
