Barb was special person. I remember her from the time I was in elementary school (in Stephens class). She told me how Stephen was so upset when I had the snowmobile accident in Grade 5. I can still see her face as she told me several years later while we were in church.
Time with Barb was mostly at church and church events. There was always a laugh. Always. She had such a great sense of humour and that is a beautiful thing. She was such a good soul!
My heartfelt sympathies to all of you.

Barb and her sister Marion with their Mother, my Aunt Viola visited us often in Yarmouth County when we were young. We always looked forward to their visits. Then in Halifax we connected again as adults when I moved there for work.
Barb had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good time.
Rita and I were fortunate to have visited her in the hospital in January and were very sad to hear of her passing.
Our condolences to the family for their loss.

Here are a couple of work pictures. We had so much fun working with Barb. Every morning faithfully, she would be waiting at the bottom of her driveway to head off to work. She was a wonderful asset to the community as she loved to volunteer as well. She will be truly missed—my sincere condolences to the whole family.

Sharing countless cherished memories with Nan through the years, Ira and I found that our favorite times together were those spent engaged in lively card games. The sheer delight on her face as she reveled in victory or celebrated a well-played hand left a mark on both of us; it's these special moments that showcased her quick humor and cunning nature at its best. She will be forever in our hearts and I know she'll be watching us play from Heaven.

Let me just begin by saying how much I loved Barb . We became friends back in the day when I managed the local swimming pool and I recruited her as a volunteer .
She was amazing and so fun and so reliable .
She helped with the birthday parties for the kids ; the movie nights she looked after the popcorn ; she was the freckle face fairy one year on our float and the next she represented Weight Watchers after her great weight loss she even let me put a sash on her ! She was game for anything .
Eventually I was able to ‘hire’ her through one of our grants and she trained in the various levels of swimming and she became an instructor herself . She loved the kids so much and they loved her .
I visited her every Christmas Eve for years and until very recently she never ever missed sending me my annual birthday card .
Barb was such a special lady and was easy to love .
About five years ago she invited me to lunch at The Henley House and we reminisced about those fun years . I was so touched that she had such happy memories of her time at ‘the pool’.
A year or so ago I was so delighted to see her sit in the front row as a special guest as I officiated the wedding of her great-granddaughter Lindsay and Justin . She looked beautiful and still gave the best hugs.
I send my thoughts and hugs to each of her family members as I know she loved you all so much and was always so proud of each of you . Her presence will be missed .
I am so happy to have known her and consider her my friend .
I truly loved her .

Barbara Holman would come to Alberta for a visit every now and then. While in Alberta, she would stay with my family here. The family here included my mother Marion Irwin (maiden name Churchill). While here she was always so good to me and to my brother Jeff. Mom and Aunt Barb shared many long conversations with mom before mom passed. And when she passed, Aunt Barb talked with me and brought a lot of comfort to me through that time.
It saddens me that she too is now gone. But at the same time, I'm a bit happy for her. She is now with her parents and her immediate family. And I know we'll all see her again when its our time.
My condolences to my cousins - her children - in this time of their sorrow.
See you soon, Aunt Barb,
- Tom Irwin

My condolences to the family. My fondest memory of Barb comes from my youngest daughter, JIll. She was on a float during Seaside Festival parade wth Barb, who was the "freckle faced fairy." Jill continued to call her by her character name for years during her swimming lessons at the pool & whenever she saw her. Barb was such a friendly & kind lady & will be remembered by all who knew her.

Barbara is a forever friend because we will see her again! She trusted Jesus as her Saviour, loved and believed His Word - the Bible and prayed for her family, church, and friends faithfully.
We travelled many kilometers together, shared laughs and many stories. Her favorite children were always on her mind and tongue❣️
Please know without a doubt Barb wants you to be where she is... she has told us over and over again.... follow the road she did: Romans 3:23, 5:8, 6:23, 8:1, 10:9 & 10, and 12:1 & 2.
I Thessalonians 4:14 - 18. Comfort one another!
Our hearts are going out to you. We will be praying for you.
Sincerely,
Pastor Steve and Hilary
