Obituary of Devin Matthew Dorey

Dorey, Devin Matthew- Age 23, Sheet Harbour died suddenly and peacefully March 13, 2024. Devin was born in Halifax November 22, 2000 to parents Dana Dorey & Sheila (Dow) Spicer. Raised in Sheet Harbour, he graduated from Duncan MacMillan High School in 2019. He was a past member of the 2610 Cadet core, where he was a top marksman and won numerous awards. Devin moved to Halifax to work with Rosborough Boats, then onto Calgary, moving back to Nova Scotia to pursue a career in pipefitting/steamfitting as an apprentice with Irving Shipyards and most recently with CC MacDonald. Devins passions were dirtbiking, MMA, fishing and spending time with family, especially his daughter. He was an amazing cook. Survived by his parents Dana (Bonita), Sheila Spicer (Bruce), daughter Alayah Dorey, life partner and mother of Alayah, Porsha McNab, sister Jamie Royal (Dylan), his beloved niece Ava Naugler, his dog Milo, grandmothers; Gloria Dorey-Kane (Wayne) and Margaret Dow. Uncle Dennis Dorey (Kim), Aunt Wanda Nicholson, Uncle Doug Dow (Evelyn), Aunt Debby Collinge, cousins; Daniel, Lindsay, Conner, Matt, Mark,Adam and Darren. Predeceased by grandfathers Alvin Dow and Mickey Dorey, Aunt Angela Maczka, Uncle Mark Nicholson, Uncle John Maczka and Aunt Nicole Dow. Visitation will be held Saturday March 16 from 6-8pm in DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home 22558 Highway 7, Sheet Harbour. Cremation to follow. Funeral service will be held Monday March 18 at 2pm in Holy Trinity Church, Tangier Rev. Debra Burleson officiating. Reception to follow in the Tangier Fire Hall. Private family burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to ddorey@wajax.com for a trust for his daughter Alayah.
