Burnell Steven Jewers aka "Boo", age 57, Ecum Secum, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 15th, 2023 at his home in Ecum Secum. Born in Halifax on November 7th, 1966, son of Margaret E. Jewers and the late Burnell Stanley Jewers. Burnell worked in the woods cutting pulp earlier in his career and later fished lobster with his father Burnell Sr. After his passing, he took over as Captain of the boat until the time of his passing.
He was a dedicated member of the Fire Department where he served as the Fire Chief for 20+ years. Burnell loved spending time with family and friends, and he really loved his dear cat Rose. Surviving is his mother, Margaret E. Jewers, daughter Emily Jewers, sons Steven Jewers and Thomas Jewers, his siblings, Martha (Lewis), Robert (Kathy), Lois (Noel), Ray (Stacy), Jody (Susie), many nieces and nephews and grand nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his father, Burnell Stanley Jewers. Cremation has taken place and there will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by the graveside committal at St. James Cemetery in New Chester. Donations may be made in Burnell's memory to the Ecum Secum Fire Department.
