MUNROE, Leslie Earl – Sober Island, Nova Scotia.
It is with shattered hearts we announce the passing of Leslie on November 20th at 8:05 pm with his family by his side. He was born on Sober Island on August 2, 1942 to parents Garvin and Nina (Jollimore) Munroe.
During the last days of Leslie’s life, there was an outpour of love as he was fighting to stay with us, giving everyone the chance to say one last goodbye. Jillian and Bettyanne slept on either side of his bed every night so he never had to brave the storm alone.
Leslie was a loyal, dedicated, hardworking husband to his wife Bettyanne. They met in 1962 at Freddys Pool hall in Sheet Harbour and were married on July 16th 1966. They shared a love story that lasted 61 years.
Leslie was the best Father, Pa, Brother, Uncle and Friend. He leaves behind to mourn his wife Bettyanne, his son, Trevor and daughter-in-law Michelle, Daughter, Jillian, grandchildren, Franklin, Tanner, Rachel, Dawson and Morgan, as well as daughter in-law Rhonda. Brothers, Murray (Linda), Ronald (Doreen), Earl (Violet), Keith (Marilyn), Rickey (Elizabeth), Sisters, Naomi & Sylvia (Jim) as well as sisters-in-law Margie & Patsy (Wayne) Brown and many nieces and nephews. Leslie was predeceased by his eldest son, Troy, his brother Eric, brother-in-law Michael and sister-in-law Marilyn as well as his in-laws, Guy and Thelma Snyder.
Cremation has taken place; visitation will be at DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home, 22558 Highway 7, Sheet Harbour on Thursday December 7th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral will take place at St. Margaret’s Church on Sober Island at 11 am on Saturday December 9th, Rev. Dr. Mike Foley officiating.
