Prest, Frederick Paul, age 77, Mushaboom formally of Mooseland, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 11, 2023 in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital, Sheet Harbour. Born June 26, 1945 in Kingston NS, he was the son of the late Frederick and Pauline (Harley) Prest. He was a father, brother and grandfather. He loved to fish, play cards, and have the occasional drink. For many years he worked on the oil rigs, fishing draggers, and rainbow netting. He will be missed by all who knew him. Survived by sons John Flick, Sackville, Paul Prest, Dartmouth, Daughter Tracy Garnet, Alberta, several grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sisters; Florence Smith and Faye Boutilier, foster brother, Buddy (Cathey) Mackay, brother-in-law Dennis Kettle, great niece Autumn Boutilier who he loved dearly, they were best buds, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and 3 great great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Frances Yohnke, Diana Kettle, and Mary Prest, brother-in-laws Grant Boutilier, Nelson Yohnke and Dalton Smith. A funeral service will be held Tuesday May 16 at 2p.m. in St. Thomas Anglican Church, Mooseland Rev. Debra Burleson officiating, burial in the church cemetery. My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
