Vincent Valentino John Daye, 84, of Pine Grove, NS, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2023 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre with his family by his side.

Vincent was born in Pope’s Harbour, NS on February 14, 1939, the son of the late Harry and Essie (Josey) Daye. He worked as a welder/boiler maker for Imperial Oil retiring with his wife Eileen(Currie) Daye to Pine Grove, NS in 1999 to pursue his dream of owning a hobby farm and raising many barnyard animals, Vincent had a special love for horses. He enjoyed playing cards and all board games. Vincent’s true joy in life was spending time with his large, close family.

Vincent is survived by his wife of 64 years Eileen(Currie) Daye, married October 4, 1958, daughters Rose(Doug Publicover) Shubenacadie East, Glenda(Darcy Glawson) Eastern Passage, Bonnie(Kirk MacKenzie) Pine Grove and son Joel(Carol Marten) Cold Lake, AB. 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Sisters Laverne (Scott Sibley), Sandra(Asad Brahim), brothers Gerald(Judy), Harry(Mary), Terry(Barbara) and Gary. Predeceased by sisters Helen, Teena and Irma, brothers Wallace and Elmer in infancy.

Visitation will be held at DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home, Sheet Harbour Wednesday, May 3rd from 6:00 – 8:00pm, prayers to begin at 7:30pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, May 4th at 2:00pm, Archbishop Emeritus Martin Currie officiating. Burial will follow at St. Martin’s Roman Catholic Church cemetery, Tangier immediately following the funeral. A reception will take place after the burial at the Tangier Fire Hall.
