Obituary of Angela Vaughan Jacquard

Please share a memory of Angela to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that just 3 days shy of her 71st birthday Angela lost her 2 year battle with cancer and passed away on April 17,2023 at The Victoria General Hospital. Born in Sheet Harbour to parents Ansel George and Lois Bernice (Josey) Barkhouse on April 20th,1952. Angela took great pride in volunteer work, canvassing for Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and Diabetes Canada for many years. In her professional career she was a Rural Suburban Mail Carrier with Canada Post for 20 years where she cherished her time with friends and co-workers, retiring in 2019. She also spent a short stint working at Maritime Tel & Tel and Shoppers Drugmart. She was a selfless, giving, thoughtful wife, mother and grandmother who always put others first. Her friends would say she had a heart of gold. Her smile and infectious laugh would bring joy to the faces of everyone around her. She truly left a lasting impression. She enjoyed baking and cooking and could somehow find a way to make a delicious home cooked meal out of "nothing". She was also an avid seamstress, from making clothing for her young children, to Halloween costumes, prom dresses, bridesmaids dresses and anything else she was asked to make. Angela loved shopping; always on the lookout for a bargain, especially with her cousin Hope McKeown who would spend most of the summer months with her on the East Coast visiting from Ontario. Survived by her husband Greg, daughters Marsha, Nadine and Melanie, grandsons Mikal and Luke, sister Amanda (Gary) Mason, nieces Marcy, Michelle and Mallory, nephews Rodney, Reid and Dylan, and her special girl; pitbull Sadie. Predeceased by both parents Ansel and Lois, brother Reid, and many aunts and uncles. Visitation will be held Sunday April 23 from 2-4 and 6-8p.m all in DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home, 22558 Highway 7, Sheet Harbour. Funeral service will be held Monday April 24 at 2p.m in St. Andrews Anglican Church, Watt Section Rev. Dr. Michael Foley officiating. A special thank you to the staff on 5A, Centennial building at the VG Hospital for taking great care of our wife, Mom, Nanny. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
