Cohoon- Thomas Leland “Little Biscuit” of Dartmouth, it is with breaking hearts we announce the passing of Tom on March 21, 2023 in Oakwood Terrace. Born in Canso December 17, 1935 he was the eldest son of the late William “Biscuit” and Margaret (Rogers) Cohoon. Tom was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 120 East Ship Harbour, where he served as sports officer and bar manager for several years. He was also well known for serving the best fish and chips in the Metro area from his fish and chip truck known as Toms Take Out. Tom loved to play his guitar and sing a good old country song. He was very active in setting up benefits for people suffering from bad health, like car accidents, cancer, etc. He was a big part of benefits for elections and the people running for office. Tom was very active in church events, which included bowling and dart leagues. Stan Rogers events were very special for Tom as a volunteer and a performer. He will be sadly missed by his stepdaughter Donna (Denis) Terroux, sons; Thomas (Shirley), Anthony (Sandra), Gordon (Cathy), daughters; Darlene (Russell) Julien, Bernadette (Robert) McVarnock, sisters; Gail Cohoon, Pauline “Polly” Bennet, Marlene (Bill) Roberts, several grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his special nephew Brian (Donna) Parker who was always by his side. Tom was predeceased by his companion and the love of his life Geline,sisters; Irene (Al) Alexander, Joan Burgoyne, brother Gordon (Doris) Cohoon and grandson William. Tom was a good man and will be sadly missed by the many people who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. A funeral service will be held Saturday April 15, 2023 at 11a.m. in St. Thomas Moore Roman Catholic Church, Dartmouth Father Okafor Toochukwu officiating.A burial will be held at a later date.

My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
