Obituary of Deborah Etta Jewers

Jewers, Deborah Etta “Debbie”- 62, Ecum Secum died Sunday January 29, 2023 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in New Glasgow February 23, 1960 she was the daughter of Clarence & Catherine (Gillis) Burgoyne. Debbie worked at Zellers and Woolco before moving home. Once home she worked at the Marquis of Port Dufferin,also as a deckhand, homemaker and mother to her children. Debbie enjoyed Bingo, a good joke, making people laugh and watching her stories on TV. Survived by children; Amanda (Andrew) Langille, New Glasgow, Scott, Ecum Secum, Laura (Chad Cooper), Port Dufferin and her fur baby Hawke, grandchildren; Paige, Dominic, Brayden, Aiden, Sophie, Alivia, Leo, brothers Randy and David, close friend and sister in law Cindy Dolan. Predeceased by sister Ellen, maternal grandmother Margaret Gillis, sister in law Eleanor Mahar. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Saturday February 4 at 11am until the time of the Celebration of Life at 1p.m. in Ecum Secum Chapel 429 Highway 7 Ecum Secum, Pastor Jeremy Head officiating. Burial to follow in St. James Anglican Cemetery, Port Dufferin. The family would like to thank the Northwood Homecare workers (we really appreciated your help in making her day brighter), the nurses and doctors in the ICU and PCU at St. Martha’s Hospital for their care and compassion.
