Obituary of Ernest Lloyd Rudolph
Rudolph, Ernest Lloyd- 87 Sherbrooke, passed away Monday August 6, 2018 in Highcrest Nursing Home, Sherbrooke. Born December 15, 1930 in Little Liscomb he was a son of the late Scott and Laurie (Mailman) Rudolph. During his working life he built boats, fished and spent many years on the water teaching his sons the fishing industry. In his off time he was a devoted member of St. John’s United Church, Liscomb, he served 13 years on the Sherbrooke Village Community Association. Ernest was a member of the PC Party of Nova Scotia, he was actively involved in political rallies and functions. Ernest was very well known on the Eastern Shore and helped a lot of people build boats. He was a caring husband and father and will be sadly missed. Ernest was a member of St. Mary’s Gun Club where he won many awards for his shooting accuracy. Survived by his wife of 65 years Catherine, Sherbrooke, five sons; Vern (Debbie), Alberta, Gerald (Brenda), Ecum Secum, Larry (Nancy), Liscomb, Scott (Natalie), Corey (Nicole), both of Shelburne, daughters; Sandra (Dennis), Sherbrooke, Leah (Juergen), Alberta, Jessie (Blaine), Ontario, Rachel (Wayne), Liscomb, daughter in-law Heather, 26 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, brothers Ralph (Lorraine), Antigonish, Scott, Goshen, sisters, Ethel Jeffers, Mahone Bay, Connie Jack, Port Bickerton, Marion (Calvin) Carol, Truro, Phylis James, Alberta. Predeceased by son Kevin and infant daughter June, sister Edith, infant brother Percy. Visitation today from 2-4 and 7-9p.m. in Ecum Secum Chapel. Funeral Service will be held Friday August 10 at 2:00p.m. in St. Johns United Church, Sherbrooke Rev. Derek Elsworth officiating. Burial in St. Johns Cemetery, Liscomb. Family flowers only, donations in Ernest’s memory may be made to the Activity Program at Highcrest Nursing Home or St. Johns United Church Cemetery, Liscomb. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Highcrest Nursing Home for the wonderful care and compassion they showed their father while he was a resident there

My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
