Obituary of Garnet John Fahie
Please share a memory of Garnet to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Age 73, of Sheet Harbour, a man of few words and deep love for his family was living out his retirement years after a long career with Fisheries and Oceans Canada when he passed away peacefully at home on June 7, 2022. Born in East Ship Harbour and son of the late Austin and Lena (Newcombe) Fahie, Garnet was a dedicated Blue Jays fan who never missed a game (or Jays in 30 for those late games) and had a love for fishing, birds, golfing and camping. He enjoyed a good book and was always up for a game of cards. His ultimate happy place and where he was at most peace was on and near the water. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Jasmine; proud daughters, Tammy (Alan) and Crystal; brothers, Seldon (Linda) and Jerry (Virginia) and sisters, Marjorie McGee, Doreen (Bob Carpenter) and Joan (Doug Billard) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Vernon and Howard and sister, Irene. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Friday, June 10th from 7-9 p.m. in D.S. Crowell and Son Funeral Home, 22558 Highway 7, Sheet Harbour. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11th in St. Denis Roman Catholic Church in East Ship Harbour. Reception to follow in St. Denis Church Hall. Online condolences may be directed to: www.crowellsfuneralhome.ca
