Obituary of Austin Leo Jewers

Please share a memory of Austin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father and grandfather on May 15, 2022 at the age of 93 in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital, Sheet Harbour. Born on August 2, 1928 to Jack and Abigail (Woodworth) Jewers, Austin was the last surviving member of his immediate family; predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters. He was an asphalt spreader operator at Standard Paving for 38 years until his retirement in 1991. He enjoyed playing cards. He and Ruth went to many card parties from Sheet Harbour to Liscombe and made many friends over the years. He is survived by children, Glenn (Jenny) Sheet Harbour; Donna (Eric) Lowe, Gibbons, Alta.; grandchildren, Brian (Lisa), Sheet Harbour; Lisa (Jesse), Gibbons, Alta.; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Hailey and Korbin of Alberta. He was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Ruth. Many thanks to Dr. MacDonald and the nursing staff of Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion. If desired, donations can be made to the Riverside Cemetery Fund. Online condolences may be directed to: www.crowellsfuneralhome.ca
