Obituary of Grace Catherine Eddy
Please share a memory of Grace to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Eddy, Grace Catherine - 83, Popes Harbour passed away Saturday April 23, 2022 at the Admiral Long Term Care Center, Dartmouth. Born in Salmon River Bridge, she was a daughter of the late Vernard & Jean Day. Grace’s life centered around her children and grandchildren. She particularly enjoyed the summer days spent with her family at home by the shore. She travelled many times to visit them wherever they lived; even making a journey to Australia. Grace placed great importance on education and knowledge. She was a voracious reader – both as a hobby and to satisfy her curiosity about the world. She was also the family historian and could easily recall details of the furthest reaches of her family tree. Up until her final days she was very interested in current events and a great armchair jeopardy player. While Grace enjoyed the traditions of homemaking, particularly baking, she kept up with the times and was very accepting of everyone’s life choices. Survived by her children; Ernest (Carrilee), Windsor, Melvin (Jennifer), Mineville, Valerie (Greg Wentzell), Halifax, Elaine (David Trumble), Cambridge Ont., grandchildren; Samantha, Sara, Steven, Brianna, Kaela, Tyler and Marie Grace, 8 great grandchildren, brothers Melvin and Earl, and sister Marion Worthing. Predeceased by husband Fraser, and brothers Walter and Warren. Our thanks to the staff at the Admiral for their kindness and care. Visitation will be at 10:00 am in Holy Trinity Church, Tangier followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am on April 29, 2022. Rev. Tricia Ingram officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Family flowers only, memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Online condolences may be directed to www.crowellsfuneralhome.ca
