Munroe, Ruby Marlene- 82, Sober Island died Monday February 28, 2022 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born December 6, 1939 in Sheet Harbour she was a daughter of the late Lester & Jane (Boutilier) Snyder. Ruby worked in her earlier years at the Lindhaven Hotel, and then at Gammons Grocery & Hardware Store for a combined 40 years of service. She loved to read, bake, cook, share meals with family and friends, play bingo and feed the seagulls, especially one she named Gertie. Survived by her husband of 57 years Ramey, sister Gladys Westhaver, many nieces, nephews, sisters in law and brother-in-law. She was predeceased by sister Evelyn Helpard and half brother William Boutilier. Prayers will be held at 1p.m. Friday March 4 in DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home 22558 Highway 7, followed by a graveside committal at St. Michaels Anglican Cemetery, Sheet Harbour at 2p.m. Reception to follow at the Sheet Harbour Legion. My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
