When I worked at Scotiabank Doug was there greeting each and ever day. He had a big heart, was always caring. Took the time to ask how you were. He remembered everything you told him. It takes a such a great man to be able to make such a big connection in a simple passing everyday. He was always so full of laughter and smiles for everyone. It meant so much coming to work knowing he would be there waiting for you ready to greet you like an old friend
Thinking of his family

Deepest condolences on the loss of a great man. I will always look back fondly on my interactions with Doug when working for Scotiabank. I've read so many messages about the conversations, jokes, stories and how Doug always remembered your name. Doug truly cared about people, no matter your title, your position or your situation he made time to listen and spread light in your day. I will always remember Doug fondly, with much respect and love.

I am so sad to hear of the passing of Doug. We loved to share stories and we had many great laughs. He knew everyone by name at the Centre and if I didn’t know someone I knew Doug would tell me their name.
My deepest condolences to the family.

I send my deepest condolences to Doug’s family! Doug was one of a kind, he worked at Scotiabank during my entire time I worked there. Doug always made me smile and have a good laugh every time I went out of the center or back in. I loved him from the day I met him. I am also from a small community he and I always shared lots of laughs and stories. Loved bringing him in things he loved like lobster and deer meat from my Dad! I am so sad to see he has passed. Doug fly high with angels buddy until we meet again. Love ya!

My deepest condolences to the family. Doug was a friendly person and always had time for a conversation. Great memory for names and every so often when I had to go by the Contact Centre, would always stop for a chat.

He was the first n last face we'd see at work for years. He knew everyone's name and always had a kind work and a joke for everyone. He was so welcoming of new staff, especially.
He and I said how ya doing every day, always Good day Mrs. Gillis and goodbye Mr. Gillis and the joke never got old.
My condolences for your sad loss, may he rest in peace
