Obituary of Audrey Margaret Oxner

Oxner (Russell), Audrey Margaret- Dartmouth and formerly Lochaber Mines 86, It is with heavy hearts the we the family announce the passing of a dear mother, grandmother, and great grandmother on Wednesday June 23, 2021 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born January 1, 1935 in Watt Section, she was a daughter of the late Charles & Christina “Tina” (Chittick) Martin. Audrey loved to travel and entertain family and friends with great music, food and laughter. Leaving to mourn are her two daughters, Donna Decoste of Dartmouth and Shelley Hamlyn of Corner Brook, NL. Four grandchildren, Maxine Decoste of Bedford, Patrick Decoste of Enfield, Matt Hamlyn of Calgary, AB and Danielle Hamlyn of Churchill Falls, NL. Also five great grandchildren, Kyla, Russ, Maddie, Michael, Annabelle and Benji. Also leaving to mourn are one sister Erna Balcom, and two brothers, Tommy Martin (Shirley) and Harry Martin (Sharon), many other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her first husband (Max Russell) and her second husband (Bert Oxner), children Arthur, Patrick, Sandra, and one stillborn. Brothers Junior, Laurie, Angus, Irvin, Harold,and Doug, sisters Shirley Currie and Jean Jackson. Cremation has taken place under the direction of DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home, Sheet Harbour. A private family graveside service will be held Sunday June 27 at 2p.m. Rev. Karen Fillmore officiating, due to COVID-19 restrictions this will be invite only. If you have mobility issues feel free to bring a lawn chair. Many thanks to the staff and doctors at the Dartmouth General (4 West) for their professionalism and heartfelt caring.
