Obituary of Eleanor Sarah Pye
Please share a memory of Eleanor to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Pye, Eleanor Sarah- 88, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother on March 28, 2021 at Harbourview Lodge, Sheet Harbour. Born on March 22, 1933 in Ecum Secum she was a daughter of the late Heath and Marjorie Jewers. She spent many years as the baker at Liscomb Lodge, which she was so proud of, as she loved to bake. She was also a member of St. Pauls Church in Mitchell Bay and the LOBA556 Orange Lodge in Ecum Secum. She loved spending time with her family, quilting and knitting. She would read the newspaper daily and await the crossword puzzle on Fridays. She also enjoyed scratching tickets, opening break opens and as everyone knew her knows, she loved her bingo. If there was bingo going on and she had a way, she would travel just about anywhere. She was always very social and loved to chat, she was always running the roads. She looked forward to attending the Guysborough county senior games yearly to see friends. She would always be seen joking around and had a great sense of humour with a laugh that was contagious. In her early years she loved playing softball. She will be missed. She is survived by her children; Beverley (Dean) Breen, Liscomb, Bonita Jackson, Sheet Harbour, Farley (Janice) Pye, Ecum Secum, Edna Walsh (Gerald), Elmsdale and David Kaiser, Spryfield, grandchildren Beverley Ann (Adam), Robert (Celeste), Melissa, Natasha (Ryan), Nicole (Mitchell), Gerald, Timmy, Jerome, great grandchildren Bradley, Tyler, Gregory, Reef, Aubrielle, Rozalynn, Natalia, Isiah, Harper, Roy, Morgan, Mya, Chase, Darren, Brandy, Terrance, Landon, Jayden great great granddaughter Myra, brother Ossie Jewers and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Frederick, sisters Beulah, Margaret, Helen and Beatrice in infancy and brothers Pat, Edmund and Murray, son in law Oral Jackson. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Harbourview Lodge for the care given to our mother over the last 4 years. Visitation will be held Wednesday March 31 from 7-9p.m. and Thursday April 1 from 1-3:30p.m. in Ecum Secum Chapel. Funeral service will be held Thursday April 1 at 4:00p.m. in St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Mitchell Bay Rev. Trish Ingram officiating, burial to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Paul’s Church, Mitchell Bay or Harbourview Lodge, Sheet Harbour. Online condolences may be directed to www.crowellsfuneralhome.ca
