Obituary of Donald Floyd Fleet

Fleet, Donald Floyd- 84, Ecum Secum, passed away peacefully with family by his side March 3, 2021 in Harbourview Lodge, Sheet Harbour. Born July 14, 1936 in Ecum Secum he was a son of the late Basil & Melissa “Lissie” (Publicover) Fleet. He was an avid fisherman, pulp cutter, and hunter. He loved playing cards, watching the price is right, jeopardy and lets make a deal, telling stories, camping, especially at Newfie Fest and going for drives in the car and the boat. Survived by sons Michael (Elizabeth), Ivan (Susan) both of Ecum Secum, grandchildren Nicole (Joey) Hubley, Sheet Harbour Passage, Makayla and Sophia both of Ecum Secum, great grandchildren Dakota, Clayton, Brandon and Tyler, brother John (Barb) Fleet, Windsor. He was predeceased by his wife Hazel, brothers Eric and Vincent in infancy. Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will be no visitation. A private family burial will be held at a later date. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Harbourview Lodge, Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital and Dr. MacDonald for the care and compassion shown to Donald during his time there.
