Bezanson, Allan Chester
Age 68, New Chester, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in New Chester on March 11, 1952, he was the son of the late Chester and Irene Bezanson.
Allan was a long time employee of the Halifax Hearld until he made a career change to finishing concrete while working for Ocean Contractors Ltd. The last few years Allan spent time on the water with his late brother-in-law ,Harold Pottie, as a deckhand lobster fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary (Pottie), his son, Travis (Amanda) and daughter Katrina (Jerry). Grampy will be missed by his three grandchildren, Mitchel, Megan, Matthew and all of his fur-grandbabies, Apollo, Tucker, Tessa, Axel, Terra, Tater, Hank, and Rose. He was predeceased by brother Loman Bezanson.
Allan had a profound love for the outdoors and just being with his loved ones. A heartfelt thank-you to the doctors and nursing staff of St. Martha’s, Antigonish, for their care and compassion of Allan during his stay with them.
Cremation has taken place and as per Allan’s request, there will be no service. Donations in Allan’s name can be made to the St. Martha’s Regional Hospital Foundation.

My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
