Obituary of Bertha Mary Leslie

LESLIE BERTHA MARY- Spry Bay passed away Wednesday March 14, 2018 in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital, Sheet Harbour. Born in New Harbour, April 26 1930, she was a daughter of the late Guy & Martha (Luddington) Sangster. Bertha was a homemaker most of her life but will be remembered going door to door selling Amway, Avon, Raliegh goods, Watkins Products and Regal. She might have been small in stature but big in heart, integrity and determination. She enjoyed baking bread, knitting, embroidery and reading. She was also a 4-H Leader in Spry Bay for a few years. Bertha loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was very interested in their daily lives. Survived by children Stephanie Lowe, Necum Teuch, Glenwood (Cookie), Byron (Inez) both of Devils Elbow, Kay (Brian), Tantallon, Guy (Janice), Spry Bay, stepchildren Yvonne (Dinger), Dartmouth, Bertie (Tom), Ontario. Grandchildren Joyce, Joey, John, Will, Haley, Byron, Patrick, Joshua, Gabrielle, and Ben. Great grandchildren Elizabeth, Vanessa, Emily, Aiden, Brody, Isabella, Gracie. Brother Rodney, Seaforth, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by husband Laurie, sons Elmer, Mark and son-in-law(who she called her son) Joe Lowe, stepson Jack. Brothers Aubrey, Gideon. A private funeral service will be held at D.S. Crowell and Son Funeral Home on Sunday March 18 at 2:30p.m., Pastor Stephen Snell officiating. Burial in St James Anglican Church cemetery Spry Bay. Reception for family and friends to follow at 48 Leslie Hill Road (Mom's home). In lieu of flowers donations in Berthas name may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society.
