Age 89, Popes Harbour, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2020, in Clarmar Assisted Living, Dartmouth. Born in Popes Harbour September 12, 1931, he was a son of the late James and Evelyn (Connors) Hilchey. In his earlier years Wallace worked for MacKenzie Transfer and then drove taxi for many years with Olympic Taxi. Survived by son, Shawn, Halifax; sisters, Ina Monk, East Ship Harbour; Marilyn (Mark) Jennings, Popes Harbour; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Eldon and Harold in infancy. A graveside committal service will be held Monday, November 2nd, at 2 p.m., in St. Andrews Anglican Cemetery, Spry Harbour, Rev. Lorraine Otto officiating. Family flowers only, donations may be made to St. Andrews Anglican Church, Spry Harbour. The family would like to thank the staff at Clarmar Assisted Living, Dartmouth for their love and care shown to Wally for the past 25 years. My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
