Murphy, Agnes “Ruth”- 85, Spry Bay, passed away peacefully on Thursday June 25, 2020 in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital. Born in Mushaboom October 16, 1934 she was a daughter of the late Seldon & Effie “Millie” (Snyder) Hubley. Mom enjoyed going to bingo and playing cards, especially at home with her family. She enjoyed her hummingbirds coming to the kitchen window, and all other wildlife in the field. Mom also enjoyed knitting, jigsaw puzzles, games shows and her General Hospital. She welcomed everyone into her home with open arms and for a meal. Nanny always had homemade chocolate chip cookies for her grandchildren. Survived by children; Hughie (Donna), Gary (Ellen), Mary Lynn (Jeff) Cameron, Beverly (Dougie) Levy, grandchildren; Andrew, Robyn, Heather, Jessica, Max, Katie, great grandson Tristan, step great granddaughter Desiree, brothers; Reid (Peggy), Phillip (Erma), sister in law Diane. Predeceased by her husband Harry, son James in infancy, brothers Wayne and Carson. A graveside committal will be held Monday June 29 at 11:00a.m. in St. James Anglican Cemetery, Spry Bay Rev. Lorraine Otto officiating. Due to Covid 19 restrictions social distancing will be required. A special thank you to EHS staff, the staff of 4 East Dartmouth General and the staff at Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital for their wondering care and compassion shown to our mother and our family. My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
