Obituary of John Paul Larocque

Age 62, Lower Sackville, died unexpectedly at home Feb ruary 28, 2020. Born April 1, 1957 in Halifax to the late Joesph (Ray) and Dorothy (Potter) Larocque. Paul had a kind, generous heart and loved being able to help those in need. Always lending a hand to those that needed it. He was an avid fan of The Beatles and passed his love of John Lennon down to his daughter Chantelle. Paul's favorite pastimes included collecting unique items and LA Raiders winter hats for Jeffrey, fishing, camping, computer games, absolutely anything to do with Star Trek and spending time with his youngest son Mitchell. He enjoyed his time working at Whatever Gifts and loved the chats with all the customers. He was always on the hunt for something cool for his kids. Paul cherished his girls, Itty Bitty, Puff and Bear....his adored cats, they meant the world to him. He is survived and greatly missed by his children, Chantelle (Keith) Julian of Oromocto, N.B.; Jeffrey (Laura) Baxter of Halifax and Mitchell Baxter of Dartmouth; sister, Angela (Dwayne) Laviolette of Lower Sackville, along with nephews, Joel Larocque and Logan Laviolette. He will be forever missed by life partner, Lois. Donations can be made in honor of Paul to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A Celebration of Life will commence in the Sackville Kinsman Club, located at 71 First Lake Dr., Lower Sackville on March 6th from 6-9 p.m. Online condolences may be directed to: www.crowellsfuneralhome.ca

My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
