So saddened to learn of Sandra’s passing. My sincere condolences to all of you. I remember one day Sandra and I were walking home from school in the pouring rain, Sandra wanted to go down this hill that was all mud. I told her not to but she wouldn’t listen. In the middle of the hill her boots got stuck in the mud and she couldn’t move. I went to help her but we were laughing so hard we couldn’t do anything. All of a sudden her feet came flying out of her boots and we both fell into the mud. What a mess. Aunt Hilda was not very pleased.

My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
