Obituary of James Douglas Keizer

Age 85, Grants Cove, passed away suddenly at home January 14, 2020. Born in Halifax April 11, 1934, he was a son of the late Harold and Beatrice (Doyle) Keizer. Jim's trade was a mechanical engineer. He started the first hydroponic commercial green house operation Dewdrop Gardens in partnership with his son Tim. In his spare time Jim was very passionate about sport fishing, which included salmon and trout fishing in Newfoundland. He also enjoyed taking day trips on his motorcycle. Survived by wife, Ruby; children, Linda Keizer-Keddy, Moncton; Timothy (Dawn), Port Dufferin; Pamela (Randy) Josey, Spry Harbour; grandchildren, James, Janice, Alicia, Jacey, Jesse, James, Shawn, Melissa; four great-grandchildren. Predeceased by first wife Lillian; infant son, Anthony; sisters, Elizabeth and Eleanor. Visitation will be held Friday, January 17th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. all in D.S. Crowell & Son Funeral Home 22558 Highway 7, Sheet Harbour N.S. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 18th at 11 a.m. in St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, Father Fabian officiating.
