Obituary of Byron Hasting Publicover
Publicover, Byron Hastings- 99 Harrigan Cove, passed away peacefully Wednesday October 16, 2019 in Harbourview Lodge, Sheet Harbour. Born May 31, 1920 in Neum Teuch he was a son of the late George and Emma (Hawes) Publicover. Byron worked in the woods and lobster fished in his earlier years, he was a licensed guide taking many people salmon fishing, he was well known in the local communities selling smelts from his scooter. He ended his working career at the Department of Transportation. Byron enjoyed fly tying, fishing and hunting in his spare time. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survived by children; Joanne Fall, Barry (Karen), Steven, Randy (Mary-Lou), Colleen (Aubrey), Marilyn, 11 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Bonnie, son Glen, sisters; Stella Burgoyne, Elma Burns, brothers; Loyal, Earl and Bert. No visitation or funeral by request. A graveside committal service will be held Sunday October 20 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery, Harrigan Cove. Online condolences may be directed to www.crowellsfuneralhome.ca

My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
