Herbert Richard Naugler

Age 98, Moser River/Halifax N.S. passed away Tuesday September 19,2023 in Veterans Memorial Hospital, Halifax, N.S.

Born in Moser River March13,1925 he was the youngest son of the late Murray and Agnes(Bezanson) Naugler. A veteran of WW11 serving with N.W.N.S. in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was involved with the liberation of Holland and presented with the Dutch medal.

He was a long time employee of C.E.Sharpe Ltd,Moser River and Nova Scotia Lands & Forests ,retiring as Foreman of Kelly Lake Fish Rearing station, Moser River, N.S.

He enjoyed many years of retirement salmon fishing, growing vegetable gardens, cutting & piling firewood and spending time with his beloved wife of 72 years. He was renowned for his laser straight garden and wood rows.

Dad will be dearly missed by his family: daughters Judy (Vic), Lower Sackville, N.S; Nina (Gordon) Bezanson, New Chester, N.S.; Son Roger (Beth), Halifax, N.S. grandchildren Lisa, Cheryl, Michael, Jennifer, Jason, Patricia, and Brian. Great grandchildren: Morgan, Maddison, Mallory, Nicholas, Christan, Regan, Breanne, Tyeler, Wyatt, Miranda, Joel, Samual, and Hayley. Sisters; Alma Scheffenburg, Lunenburg, N.S. and Julie Wells, Berwick, N.S.

Predeceased by his wife Alice E. Naugler (MacDonald), brother Kenneth, Sisters Nina, Hannah, Ruby, Alice. Grandsons Philip Bezanson, Mervin Bezanson, great grandchildren Emily and Devin Bezanson.

Visitation at 12.00 noon, Saturday September 23/23 until time of funeral at 2.00PM, all in D.S Crowell & Son Funeral Home, 22558 Highway 7, Sheet Harbour N.S. Burial at Riverside Cemetery , Moser River, N.S.. Reception to follow at Moser River Community Hall Moser River, N.S.
