Obituary of Joseph Abraham Farris

Farris, Joseph Abraham- 80, Sheet Harbour, died peacefully Tuesday March 16, 2021 in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital. Born in Sheet Harbour October 1, 1940 he was a son of the late Abraham & Pearl (Barkhouse) Farris. In his earlier years Joe worked in Dartmouth with 7-up Company for several years. He was then employed at the Sheet Harbour Pulp Mill until its closure in 1971. Joe then worked with Farris’ Trucking for 18 years, and MacKinnon & Olding Ltd.. Joe took great pride in his yard, working outside, tinkering around the house. He was a long time lions member. Joe enjoyed playing crib, 45’s and other card games. Survived by his wife of 23 years Lynn, son Ryan, Bedford, grandchildren Malcom & Bella, sister Diane Hiltz, Sheet Harbour, brother Verdie, Sheet Harbour, step children Wanda (Scott), Amy (Scott), step grandchildren Mikhayla, Leah, Brooke, Elizabeth, Jacob, Ethan. Predeceased by 3 brothers, 1 sister, 2 in infancy. Cremation has taken place. A graveside committal will be held Saturday March 20 at 2:00p.m. in St. Andrews Anglican Church, Watt Section Rev.
