Anne and family,
Remembering the great man your father was, and thinking of you all during this time. It was my pleasure to be a part of your dads life during the last 5 years at Camp Hill. He was one of a kind, and someone I will never ever forget. I will miss seeing and talking with him on a regular basis. He had such a presence around the building as I am sure you know :) Don, you will never been forgotten, and I will always watch the corners on my way home.
Take care of yourselves.

Hello to the James family in particular,Lindsay.I am so sorry to hear that you have lost someone so near and dear to your heart.Lindsay ,as you and I have discuss at the dental school, your grandfather and my father were friends at Fresh Water Trail and I think that they enjoyed each other's company over a cup of coffee on several occasions.I had met your grandfather a few times as he lived in the apt which was right outside the door that I always entered to visit my dad. We always managed to bring Lindsay's name into the conversation some how. He was proud of you! I pass by me dad's gravesite every morning on my way to work and yesterday I 'told' dad that he could have coffee with Don today. So sorry for your loss. Janice Ruppert

Dear Ann,
I’m very sorry to hear that your dad has passed. Bonnie and David McBeth both sent me his obituary. I laughed when I read the part about the tent trailer. I remember when he made that. We had many a happy weekend camping with your family, the McBeths and others while living in Borden.
Your dad used to call me Georgina just to annoy me and I was always annoyed as a teenager might be. Where it came from I don’t know.
My condolences to you and your brothers and families.

Dennis & family:
Remembering your Dad, our chats over the years and his love of Pleasant Harbour. I was visiting my mother at the Berkeley around 2010 and locked myself out on a balcony. No one heard my frantic knocking and then, at the opportune time, I see Don coming down the street on his motorized scooter. I was able to get his attention and he went to the front desk to answer my distress call!
Hold the special memories close. Keeping your family in my thoughts.

Dear Graham, Anne, Rusty and Dennis:
Please accept my most heartfelt condolences on the death of your father. My wife, Beth and I were immediate neighbours of Don and Rae when they lived on Lucien Drive. To say they were wonderful neighbours would be an understatement. Now, I am considerably younger than Don, so the arrangement was that he owned the lawn mower and I would do the mowing. And under Don's watchful eye, I trimmed the stunning hedge that framed in our common front yard. In 1991, our eldest daughter Maria was born. Her first visit after leaving the hospital was to check in with Don and Rae.
I recall meeting each of you at various points, and of course Dennis and I have worked closely together on labour issues at Atlantic School of Theology. Over the years, Don and I talked about all the major topics in life. Largely the ones that neighbours should avoid, but that good neighbour can't help but discuss, such as politics, religion and politics. Oh yes, we talked about the Eastern Shore and sports as well. A common topic to which Don returned frequently was the four of you. It is a privilege to hear a father talk about his children the way he talked about you.
Please know that you will be in my prayers and thoughts over the next few days. Please know too, that my previous statement is not just a phrase, I take time every night for concentrated prayer (9:30). Tonight I will give thanks for Don, my old neighbour and friend.
Yours,
Jody Clarke

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. As a volunteer at the Vets Hospital I had many great visits with Don talking about a lot of various topics. I will definitely miss him. He always looked forward to seeing my therapy dog Stoker. A least for the past year we were able to chat on Duo. My sympathies are with you all.
