We met Bruce in May of 2003 when we moved into our cottage in Fleet Settlement. We quickly became friends with both Bruce and Margaret. And we learned a lot about our area and of Nova Scotia from them. Even though we only visited once a year for a month or more, we enjoyed our time there and enjoyed their friendship. Bruce took us out to Spider Lake to see his fish camp and he also took us on a walk of the boundary of the land around our cottage using a trail that had been cut on that boundary line. Another fun trip with Bruce was picking raspberries in a special area that he knew of. Margaret would pick our rhubarb from our garden, cut it up and freeze it then give it to us the next year when we came to stay in our cottage. Our trips won’t be the same with them gone, but the wonderful memories will live on forever. We are so glad that we not only met Bruce and Margaret but their family as well. Thanks to Doug, our lawn is being kept up during our absence. Hopefully we can visit again in 2021, we were sad to have to cancel our 2020 trip but we had no choice.
