Obituary of Thelma Margaret Levy

Thelma Margaret LEVY- Sober Island February 17, 1929-July 24, 2026 With deep love and sorrow, we share the passing of Thelma Margaret Levy, age 97, who entered into the presence of Christ on July 24, 2026, at Harbourview Lodge. Born on February 17, 1929 in Marinette, she was the daughter of the late Neil and Mae Currie (Cruickshank). Thelma enjoyed her family, friends, home, yard work, crafts, and volunteering at church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Known for her wit, style and feisty spirit. She was an exceptionally generous person and always took care of those she loved. She married her husband Guy in 1947 and he was the love of her life. She loved her son deeply and thought the world of her two granddaughters. Thelma was a long-time member of St. Margaret’s Anglican Church on Sober Island. Survived by her son Frank and granddaughters Brianne and Kristin (Stephen) Anstey and great-grandson James Guy. Also survived by her brother-in-law Carl Doucette, sisters-in-law, Deanna, Nora and Elsie Currie along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Guy Victor Levy, brothers Eddie, Allen, Gervais, Jack, Fraiser, Roddie, and baby Cyril Guy (in infancy) and sisters Dollie, Betty and Linda. A special thanks to her sister-in-law Nora, niece Vicki, Dr. Donald MacDonald and the staff at Harbourview Lodge for all of their care throughout the years. Though she will be deeply missed, her passing is not the end of her story but the beginning of eternal life in the presence of her Lord, Jesus Christ. “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die” (John 11:25). Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 28 at 9:00-10:30 a.m. at DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home Ltd., (22558 Highway 7, Sheet Harbour). Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. at St Margaret’s Anglican Church, (28 Short Cut Road, Sober Island). Rev. Dr. M. Foley officiating, burial to follow in the church cemetery. Reception following burial at the Lion’s Centre (183 Pool Road, Sheet Harbour).
