Frank is a good friend of ours. We met his mom, Thelma through Frank. Each year at Christmas, we would have the pleasure of sharing a cup of tea and a conversation with Thelma. We will miss her company and stories when we visit Frank.

With great sadness we say goodbye, but knowing someday we will meet again brings a comfort and joy. Through years of shared stories, coffee and lunch. Family celebrations, shopping trips and driving adventures, Thelma was a constant presence and friend. In some ways even a surrogate mom to me and my sister. We had many laughs and some tears as well. My deepest condolences to all family and friends. May we all be so blessed to have as many years as she. May she rest in peace.

I am so sorry to hear of Thelma’s passing. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. As a close neighbour I was always amazed at what she could do around the yard at her age. Mowing her lawn, raking grass and putting it in the wheel barrow, on a step ladder washing her windows and her house inside was always immaculate. Sending sincere condolences and sympathy to Frank, Brianne, Kristen and all the family. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

My father the late Duncan S. Crowell purchased the business on August 31, 1970 from the late Parker Hamilton. Dad named it Eastern Memorial Funeral Home until a few years later when he changed the name to DS Crowell Funeral Home.
