Obituary of Cynthia Connors

Cynthia Connors 1969 - 2026 It is with heavy hearts we share the unexpected, peaceful passing of Cynthia on July 14, 2026. Known as Cindy by family and close friends, was born on March 8th, 1969 in Halifax, NS. She grew up in Sheet Harbour, graduating high school, and moving away from home for post-secondary education. After college she started a career in sales, then became a highly respected real estate agent for 13 years. Later, she bravely left a successful profession to pursue a career which had an immense connection to her heart, she became a sailor (seafarer/seaman). Over the last 19 years she had worked her way up from an able-bodied seaman, finishing her career as a first mate, foreign going. Cindy was a world traveler, visiting various countries and regions spanning from Bali to Honduras, and most recently a bucket-list vacation in Japan. She was not a "resort" traveler, preferring small villas and huts close to the beach, giving her the opportunity to meet the locals. Over the years she has made many friends all over the world, many of which she kept in contact. Having a generous heart, often times she came home with an empty suitcase, gifting her clothing to those less fortunate. Cindy is survived by her parents, Albert and Charlotte Connors of Sheet Harbour; brother Dwayne (Annette) Connors of Sheet Harbour; sister Sonia (Frank) Daye of Nine Mile River, sister Natasha Connors of Dartmouth, nieces and nephews. There will be a small service for family and friends held at the Saint Peter's Catholic Church, St. Peter's Loop Sheet Harbour on Saturday, July 25th, 2026, at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honour can be made at a charity of your choice.
