To Rita and family, Troy, Marlene and Tyson my deepest sympathies
I was so saddened to hear of Rays passing. Our families spent many years together when I was young . Ray and Dad had the same love for Hank Williams which I have inherited now. I remember card games and the yelling of “tonight’s the night” so loud we would jump, oh and the poor chickens
I was lucky to see Ray a few years ago and we had a great chat where he shared some stories about Mom and Dad, I will cherish that. I know Mom and Dad and many others have welcomed him with open arms and having a grand ole time All my love Deliska

Thinking of you Rita at this difficult time.....I'm sure when we think of you and Ray in the future though, it will be together either at a show or your house, and we will always think MUSIC and the smile it brought to his face. We had hoped to play I Saw the Light for him one more time but alas, it wasn't to be.....

Dear Rita and family,
Thinking of you all as you go through this difficult time. Both my late husband, John, and Ray went back to the early 1970s, where they met while working at HMC Dockyard. My family will be forever grateful for the wonderful memories shared with Ray, you, and the extended Webb family over the years. We shared a lot of laughter and jokes on Mae & Hugh Lane, which will always be known as Ray's Wharf to us.
Recently, our family was reminiscing about a time when one of our youngsters (around 7 years of age at the time) rushed to the wharf after seeing Ray’s boat come in from lobster fishing. Unbeknownst to us, our youngster ordered $100 in lobster—much to our surprise!
Many times after John passed on, Ray and Rita would check in on us. Their knowledge of the harbour saved us from many incidents, I’m sure, with Ray emphasizing the importance of being careful while boating and pointing out tricky rocky spots on the shore. We fondly recall a time when Ray—and most likely Troy and Tyson, too—helped to retrieve my daughter and son-in-law's boat that broke away from the wharf during a storm.
We pray for God's strength to surround you all during this time.
Warmly,
Ruth Yeadon, Debbie, Wanda, Heather and Family

Condolences to Ray's family. I had the pleasure of working a number of night shifts with Ray as my Aux/Cst. Partner. He had a wealth of knowledge of the Eastern Shore and was a valuable asset to Sheet Harbour Detachment. Ray was a true gentleman and a dedicated volunteer in his community. RIP in Ray.

He was a dedicated Auxiliary member of the R.C.M.P. freely giving many hours for the betterment of the communities on the Eastern Shore and Nova Scotis . I worked with Ray as an RCMP auxiliary. Although not always in the field we normally spoke during the monthly meeting at the Cole Harbour detachment. With “Webb’s” in my family I used call him Mr. Webb and he say yup, that’s me! Condolences to the family, he was such a nice guy and a pleasure to be around, he will be missed.

I met Ray at Shearwater during our time together working through the SwissAir disaster. I worked for the N.S. Medical Examiner Service and interacted with Ray every day for months. It was very sad to be involved in such a disaster with so many lives lost, Ray and I shared many laughs observing the goings on of the many conflicting egos at work there. Ray and I would glance at each and smile because we knew what the other one was thinking. Ray was a true gentleman and was always so willing to help out.
My sincere condolences to Ray’s family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I was saddened to hear of Rays passing, I’m sure he’ll be missed greatly.
I was an Auxiliary member at the same time as Ray, and also worked the Swiss Air tragedy. We’d see each other a couple times a year after that at training or other community events.
He always had a smile and a good sense of humour.
Condolences.

Rita and family:
My condolences on Ray’s passing. Ray was a good man, and his kindness shown and given to our family, especially my dad over the years won’t be forgotten. I loved my talks and interactions with Ray over the decades. The conversations were never dull and never the same. Thanks for your years of service within your community Ray. Keep your fond and happier memories close to your hearts. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this sad and difficult time in your lives. Unfortunately I’m away and unable to attend the celebration for Ray.
Kind Regards:

That was a lovely comment from dear Tim, which made us laugh as we too recall similar experiences at the Webb household.
All the shared laughter, all the good times, all the close friendship of family usually included Ray’s stories and infectious laughter.
I remember telling Ray that he was probably exaggerating a bit, and his retort was a burst of laughter, especially the story of “sleeves pulled off coats, and rickrack hanging in the trees”. Though I can still hear his laughter, it is quiet now, but he remains in our hearts and memory…until we meet again in that peaceful Light, the Eternity of Paradise which Jesus promised. Ray awaits us but until then, we, Connie, Richie and Lucie, send our heartfelt condolences and love to Rita, Troy, Marlene, Tyson, and their extended families.

To Rita, Troy, Tyson and Marlene and extended families, my sincerest condolences on the passing of Ray. So many memories have come to me since I heard the news. So many hours spent there , playing hockey on rink or in dway, skidooing etc. A time when I went through the ice and was frozen by the time I got to the house. Ray loosing 1 of the Panthers pulling out of dway. Getting paid a penny a nail to remove them from boards of old garage to make way for the new 1 . Ray letting me steer the pay loader in Ray Newcombes pit after Troy and I rode in the bucket back from the wharf . My Dad and Ray nicknamed the 2 giants by their buddy Leigh Murphy and them singing take it to the limits!!!! I'm thinking of you all , although our paths have not crossed much over the years , you all are in my thoughts. Take care all !!!

I have very vivid memories of my uncle Ray. We would visit from Alberta in the summer and uncle Ray would take us out on his boat. This was so exciting for a boy from the prairies. Back at the house, my mom, Brenda, and my dad, Terry and aunt Rita and uncle Ray would laugh and laugh and laugh. I couldn't believe how much fun the adults were having! It didn't make sense to me, but I loved it and I remember their laughter today - all of them sitting in the kitchen. And uncle Ray was so funny! Thanks for the memories. I will miss you uncle Ray.
