Obituary of Warren Charles Edward Parsons
Please share a memory of Warren to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With sadness in our hearts we announce the passing of Warren Parsons, aged 75, of Spry Bay on April 16th, 2026. Warren was born on April 20, 1950 in Curling, Newfoundland to Rev. Ron and Rosina Anne (Mills) Parsons. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 53 years, Rosalie Martha (Cooper) Parsons and his children Alicia Parsons Lushington (Donnie) of Meaghers Grant, Heather Burns (Sandy) of Yellowknife, and Ben Parsons (Clemence) of Bordeaux, France as well as his grandchildren Isaac, Noe, Reuben, Cooper, Eric, and Lila Margot. He is also survived by his siblings Stephen, Jocelyn, Tim, Marianne, Michael, and Leah. He played a special role in the lives of Rosalie’s brothers Robie and Larry from the time they were young. His large extended family will feel his loss deeply. Warren was predeceased by his parents and his parents in-law Merril and Elsie Cooper of Spry Harbour.
Warren enjoyed 30 years working for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, mainly in Pictou and Antigonish, finishing his career in Yellowknife before retiring to Spry Bay in 2005. From that time on, he enjoyed annual trips to Portugal with Rosalie, visiting his grandchildren, tending his garden, and walks in the woods. He was a founding member and long time president of the “Friends of Taylor Head”, making the park that he loved accessible to fellow birders and hikers throughout the year. He enjoyed visiting the 100 Wild Islands of the Eastern Shore with his grandchildren. Warren was a friend, confidante, and voice of reason to many. He was a gentle soul and will be missed greatly.
Warren’s wife and children would like to invite friends and family to drop in between the hours of 1pm and 4pm at their home at 149 Maple Hill Drive, Spry Bay on Monday, April 20th to celebrate his life and honour his 76th birthday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sheet Harbour Food Bank, Friends of Taylor Head, or the charity of your choice.
