Obituary of Dana Warren Martin

Dana Warren Martin It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dana Warren Martin, age 61, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Born in Sheet Harbour on November 4, 1964, Dana was the son of the late Donald and Angelina (MacDonald) Martin. In his earlier years, Dana worked at G&R Kelly in Bedford. Over the years he held a variety of jobs and, at the time of his passing, was working as a lobster fisher—work he truly enjoyed. Dana was known for keeping busy; you could often find him working away in his sawmill or lending a helping hand to a friend in need. In his spare time, Dana loved relaxing with friends and family in his proudly built “mancave,” listening to his favorite Newfie music while enjoying a cold Keith’s beer. He also looked forward to his daily visits up to his sister Donna’s place for coffee and a good chat. Dana treasured his trips to Pleasant Bay to visit his good buddy Wilson, where the two shared many laughs and good times in “Dana’s Den.” Dana will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Danita (Fancy); his children, Angela (Bradley) Beaton of Lake Echo and Corey (Leah Hynes) of Marie Joseph; and his cherished grandchildren, Claire, Lauren, Kaleb, and Logan. He is also survived by his brother, David (Janice) of Sheet Harbour; his sister, Donna (Victor) Rhyno of Harrigan Cove; and his father-in-law, Merle Fancy. Besides his parents, Dana was predeceased by his brother Donnie, his sister Flora in infancy, and his mother-in-law Pauline. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 16, from 1–3 p.m. at the Ecum Secum Fire Hall, 24 Wharf Road, Ecum Secum. A private family burial will follow immediately at St. Matthew’s Anglican Cemetery, Marie Joseph. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who helped Dana and to Dr. Antony for their care and kindness. Dana will be remembered for his hard work, his generosity, and the good times shared with family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
